Geometric analysis and commentary by Peter van den Burg
Pennard Hill, May 31, 2026 The definition of a Blue Moon is either the third full moon of an astrological season, or the second full moon in the same month. The full moon of may 31, 2026 is both. It is also three month’s until the partial lunar eclipse from August 28. On the morning of the 31st of May, sunrise and moonset happened more or less simultaneously at that location, doing a dance between dark and light. The moon’s proximity to Sagittarius A perhaps emphasising its dark aspect. I like the symbolism of it, whether it is applicable for the crop circle, I don’t know. You have to decide that for yourself. It’s relation to the landscape, with the tree and other features is quite fascinating. Not only the trees in the landscape. But a circular structure just outside the field lines up nicely with the tree, and is about the same…

Geometry
4 diagram file(s) on this page. measured from the diagram itself, and experimental: the extractor's rotational order is right on 88.8 % of a 200-diagram hand-labelled set against a gate of 90 %, so read a number here beside the picture rather than instead of it.
| diagram | rotational symmetry | elements | rings | mirror | fill |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| cc 7056c08a | ≈ 3-fold score 0.966 | 2 | 3 | 0.955 | 0.3135 |
Experimental, and marked ≈ wherever it appears. These numbers are read off a drawing, not off the field: the extractor's rotational order agrees with a hand-labelled set on 88.8 per cent of 200 diagrams against a gate of 90 per cent, its element count is within one on 97.5 per cent, and its ring count is not calibrated at all. Nothing in the analysis tree is derived from the rotational order while that gate is unmet.
